Innovative Organisations

INNO
(M.A. Global Business Development)

Course Syllabus

How do organisations reinvent themselves – with and around artificial intelligence? This course looks at typical facets of organisational design and at new perspectives on organisation development. Each session explores one way of organising, from agile teams and learning loops to adaptive and AI-native designs, and applies it to a multinational company operating in Europe.

Be prepared for peer-led sessions, case studies and a team project: under the common theme “Innovating with A.I.”, each team teaches one concept and shows how a chosen company applies it.

Session Topics

  • Agile and AI-Agile: teams, tribes and decision making in the AI era
  • Learning Loops with AI: building organisations that get smarter, faster
  • Innovation Networks: ecosystems and partnerships in the age of AI
  • Reinvented Organisations: redesigning structures with AI as a catalyst
  • Adaptive Org Design: roles, skills and staffing with AI augmentation
  • The Irresistible Organisation: shaping employee experience and trust with AI
  • AI-Native Ops Model: how the digital organisation really works
  • The Invincible Organisation: resilience and value creation under AI pressure
  • AI Ecosystem Governance: decision rules, trust and better AI outcomes

Organizational

The course is one of two in the module “Organisational Development” (INNO & DEMA), which in sum values 6 ECTS credit points. As a guideline, workload could be split to classes (15h), preparation and reinforcement (35h) and the term paper (40h).

Course material and lecture slides will be available via Moodle.

Evaluation

Teams of three write a 3000-word term paper on how a chosen multinational company applies artificial intelligence, and run a 60-minute session for their peers plus a 15-minute results presentation based on that paper. Paper and session/presentation are each worth 50%. The use of A.I. in the writing process is expected and must be disclosed (self-declaration, reflection note, divergence log).
